Janine Block serves as Associate Director of International Student Advising & Support at Lafayette College, working within a larger team dedicated to supporting underrepresented populations on campus. As the College’s PDSO, Janine has been providing immigration, transitional and social support to the international student population and cultural programming to the campus at large for the past 22 years. In this role she regularly partners with the director of Lafayette’s English for Academic Purposes Center and has developed numerous programs designed to increase international student belonging and engagement, enhance cross-cultural understanding, and foster strong relationships between domestic and international members of the campus and local community. She also serves as the advisor to the College’s International Students Association and provides guidance to other cultural organizations on campus. Prior to this role, Janine worked in Career Services at Lafayette, taught English in Japan and worked for a French pharmaceutical company. She holds a B.A. in East Asian Studies from Lafayette College.
